Expressed in percentages, the house has a profit rate of 5.26% for American roulette, and in European roulette this is only 2.7%. In other words: the casino has a higher chance of winning. Given that American roulette includes two zero chances, the chances of these causing you to lose are slightly higher than in European roulette. Both casino games also offer a side game where you can place additional bets. You can bet on the numbers 1 to 36 but also on other chances such as red/black, odd/even and 1-18/19-36 for example. The roulette wheel does have the numbers in a different sequence, but this makes no difference to your final winning chances of course. Everything else on the playing fields is really the same. What does stand out is that American roulette has an additional double zero as well as the standard zero. If you put both American and European roulette playing fields next to each other, you don't really notice a lot of difference.
